Sylvia Tickets

Old Vic Theatre

Beverley Knight stars as Emmeline Pankhurst in this dynamic new musical, which swaps history books for dance, hop hop and soul.

A movement becomes a musical

Dynamic new musical Sylvia swaps history lessons for hip hop in its anticipated world premiere at the Old Vic Theatre. Celebrating the life and legacy of Sylvia Pankhurst, this exhilarating show stars Beverley Knight as iconic Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.

Daughter of prominent campaigner Emmeline, Sylvia Pankhurst was a feminist, pacifist, socialist and rebel at the beating heart of the Suffragette movement. This revolutionary story transforms her place in the history books into a breath-taking mix of dance, hip hop, funk and soul.

Beverley Knight (Memphis; The Drifters Girl) stars as matriarch Emmeline Pankhurst, with Sharon Rose as Sylvia Pankhurst, Kirstie Skivington as Adela Pankhurst and Ellena Vincent as Christabel Pankhurst. Further casting includes Kimmy Edwards as Emily Davison and Jay Perry as Winston Churchill.

Choreographer Kate Prince’s Sylvia musical debuted in 2018 as a work-in-progress piece produced by ZooNation and the Old Vic Theatre, and now returns for a much-anticipated full musical premiere. It features original music by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, performed by an electric company of world-class actors and dancers.

A movement distilled into an invigorating musical, Sylvia tickets are the perfect way to discover a remarkable moment in history and the women behind it.
