Adelphi Theatre Seating Tips

The Adelphi Theatre is an exceptional example of Art Deco design situated directly on the Strand. The theatre was restored in 1993 and has been the home to some prolific musicals and plays, most recently the hit revival of Chicago which played for over 8 years.

Despite the stunning architecture the theatre is notoriously tricky in terms of seating, and so it is worthwhile investing some time to find the perfect place to sit. Seat prices vary across all levels due to obstructions and overhangs, but the best value for money is often hidden away. The theatre is split over three levels, with the two tiers set firmly back from the stalls. Best seats are towards the centre of each row, especially for visual musicals that are often shown in the house.

Big Budget Tip

The Dress Circle provides some spectacular views, especially if you can sit close to the middle. Try the second or third row back and you will be able to see all of the action perfectly. If you are seeing a play you will be better off in the Stalls, somewhere around row H.

Best Value Tip

The front row of the Upper Circle is often discounted. If you can put up with limited leg room and want a clear view of the stage it is certainly worth a look. Make sure you go for the middle of the row first!

The Bodyguard
(Showing from 6 Nov 2012 until 28 Sep 2013)

The Bodyguard musical receives its world premiere at the Adelphi Theatre, with Tony-Award winner Heather Headley in the classic Whitney Houston role. The use of projections ensures a good view for much of the auditorium, but seats in the front of the stalls or dress circle in the cavernous theatre are recommended.
