Rob Madge’s joyful autobiographical show
Nothing’s going to rain on Rob Madge’s parade! Their WhatsOnStage Award winning autobiographical show My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?) transfers to the West End for a strictly limited season this year. When Rob was 12 years old, they decided to stage an entire Disney parade at home for their Grandma. Armed with wigs, costumes and the presence of a star, Rob played Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle. Not so ably assisted by dad - a chaotic stage manager who pushed floats in the wrong direction - and mum - who got her Aladdins and Ursulas all mixed up - Rob’s parade didn’t go exactly to plan… but Grandma liked it.
My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?) is a hilarious, joyful celebration of growing up queer with a supportive family. Creator Rob Madge has graduated from putting on shows in their living room to appearing in Bedknobs and Broomsticks on tour, winning a WhatsOnStage Award, and amassing a huge number of followers on TikTok with their theatre-themed videos.
Don’t miss out on My Son’s a Queer tickets at the Garrick Theatre this Autumn. This is one show that will put a smile on your face!
