What songs are in the Sister Act musical?
Sister Act features a Motown, soul and disco-inspired score by Academy Award winner Alan Menken. Songs including "Fabulous, Baby", "Raise Your Voice", and "Spread the Love Around" promise a divine time at this hit show, which has already entertained half a million on a UK tour.Alan Menken is best known as the composer behind some of the most iconic and memorable songs from Disney films including Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, as well as Little Shop of Horrors and Newsies. He is one of just 18 people to have won the EGOT - an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.
Beverley Knight in Sister Act
Sensational soul singer and Olivier Award winner Beverley Knight stars as glamorous Deloris from 15 March, with Alexandra Burke taking on the role from 10 June.Knight has previously appeared in Sister Act at the Eventim Apollo in 2022, and her other credits include The Drifters Girl, Sweet Charity, Sylvia, The Bodyguard and Cats.
Chart-topper Alexandra Burke most recently appeared in the London Palladium’s 2022 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. Her other stage credits include a previous stint in Sister Act in 2016, The Bodyguard and Chess opposite Michael Ball.
Further casting includes Ruth Jones (Gavin and Stacey) as Mother Superior until 3 August, with Lesley Joseph assuming the role from 5 August; and Clive Rowe as Eddie Souther until 8 June, with Lee Mead assuming the role from 10 June.
